ACUPUNCTURE THERAPY IN HICKSVILLE, NASSAU COUNTY & LONG ISLAND

Heal and Re-Vitalize with Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an effective form of medical treatment that has evolved into a complete holistic health care system.

Acupuncture promotes natural healing. It can enhance recuperative power and immunity, support physical and emotional health, and improve overall function and well-being.

How Acupuncture Works

Acupuncture is a 5,000-year-old Chinese art of medicine. This therapy aims to correct imbalances in the body by stimulating and enhancing the body’s own ability to resist or overcome illnesses, pain, and other various conditions.

There is a belief that illnesses are caused by a disruption of the energy or “Qi.” This Qi circulates through 14 meridians or energy-carrying channels in various regions of the body. Along these areas lie hundreds of acupuncture points or acupoints. Undergoing acupuncture at our office on Long Island will target these specific locations, acupuncture helps the body heal on its own.

Meet Our Hicksville Acupuncturist

Robin Perlberg is a New York State licensed acupuncturist with over twenty years of experience. She is also a New York State certified health coach and a Holistic Health Practitioner certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She received her master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Mercy College in 1999. Her clinical training took place at Sound Shore Hospital, a teaching hospital in New Rochelle, NY. , which was unique among acupuncture programs. Robin also attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where she trained in nutritional and lifestyle counseling. She is also certified in Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation, an acupuncture technique used to improve facial skin tone, firmness and diminish lines and wrinkles. It is also useful and effective for disorders that affect the face, such as Bell’s Palsy and Parkinson’s.

For 23 years Robin has been treating adults, seniors, and children for disorders and issues affecting all the different systems of the body and mind. These include, but are not limited to, muscular/skeletal pain, nerve pain/neuropathies, headaches/migraines, digestive issues, anxiety/depression, menstrual, fertility, and menopausal issues, insomnia, fatigue, and other acute and chronic disorders.

Treatment includes acupuncture, acupuncture with electrical stimulation, ariculartherapy, infrared heat therapy, cupping and lifestyle and nutritional counseling. Treatment takes place in a private room with a comfortable relaxing atmosphere. During acupuncture treatment at our Nassau County practice, which lasts approximately 15 – 20 minutes, lights are dimmed and soothing music is played.

Acupuncture is energy medicine that is more than 2,000 years old. It has a very long track record of success. It works with your body’s own energy, or what the Chinese call Qi (pronounced chi).

Acupuncture is very relaxing, it calms down inflammation, relieves stress, works to assist your body and mind to more normal and balanced functioning and stimulates your body’s own natural healing abilities. It does this by addressing the root causes of a disorder as well as treat symptoms.

On your first visit Robin will do an extensive intake of your signs, symptoms and history of the issues you wish to address. It is important to Robin that you feel heard and well cared for. Any and all questions or concerns will be addressed on your first visit and all subsequent visits.

Robin grew up on Long Island and has lived here her whole life. She became interested in health, nutrition, fitness and natural healing at a young age. She played varsity field hockey and softball in high school and was a lifeguard and swim instructor. She is still an avid swimmer, swimming 50 laps a day most days. She practices what she preaches by following a healthy whole food, minimally processed diet. She loves witnessing people heal and thrive when they begin to give themselves what they really need: natural energy healing and wholesome nutrition, as well as fresh air, sunshine, and movement.
